Nana Ama McBrown has made headlines since she was unveiled on Monday, march 13, as the new host of Onua TV’s morning show; signifying an official move to Media General.
The move by the award-winning actress from her former home, Despite Media, has generated a lot of controversies.
Before her move, McBrown had stayed off air for so many months as host of UTV’s United Showbiz. Her absence on the show had generated a lot of questions about her future at UTV, and her move to Media General answered a lot of the questions.
While there have been so many rumours concerning her move, Nana Ama McBrown has cleared the air on her decision to move on from her former home.
According to McBrown, while she was off air on UTV for all those months, she had reached out to her former employees to have a meeting about her future there.
“I had told my previous employers that I wanted to hold on from December; let’s think of something new to do, that’s what I said to them,” Nana Ama McBrown told Johnnie Hughes on 3FM.

However, the award-winning actress revealed her request for a meeting was ignored, fuelling her decision to move on as she did not have a written contract with them.
“And honestly, I was waiting for them to call and say come let’s think about what is new. However, I don’t have a contract with anybody, so if nobody is minding me, I have the right to move on,” she stated.
In other news, Akrobeto who is also a worker at UTV and a colleague of Mcbrown has shared his two cents about the whole brouhaha.
Speaking in an interview on Precise FM, Akrobeto dismissed the claims that Mcbrown was sacked from UTV.
Akrobeto emphatically stated that Mcbrown willingly left UTV for her own personal reasons.
The actor explained that Nana Ama Mcbrown left UTV after she was approached by ONUA TV and saw their offer to be better than what she was getting at Despite Media.
He also chided all the people bashing the actress for leaving UTV for ONUA TV to put an abrupt end to the attacks because they are needless.
