VGMAs 23: Full list of winners for Day 1, Awards & Performances [Photos]

Ghana’s biggest weekend in music is here! The
Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) brings together stars from across the country and around the continent to celebrate the music making waves in the year under review. The VGMA is Organised by Ghana’s leading events company Charterhouse, under the auspices of the Ghana Ministry of Tourism,Arts, and Culture (MOTAC), the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), and headlined by telecoms giant Vodafone.

The 23rd VGMA will Climax with an exciting 2-day event,celebrating the people, the culture and the music, live from the Grand Arena

The event was hosted by celebrated Ghanaian TV/radio host, AJ Sarpong and award-winning musician, Edem with the presence of many media personalities in attendance.

The Accra International Conference Centre’s Grande Arena was electrified as musical artists and new lords were honored.

However ,this was mainly focused on celebrating the technical side of music artistry including Group of the Year and African Artiste of the year.

These are the winners on the first night of the VGMA23

Music for Good – Greedy Men by Stonebwoy

Best Instrumentalist of the Year – Joshua Moszi

Best Music Video of the Year – Bosom P Yung (Nyinya)

Songwriter of the Year – Fameye (Praise)

Unsung Act of the Year – Gambo

Best Female Vocal Performance of the Year – Niiela

Best Male Vocal Performance of the Year – Kwaisey Pee

Music For Good (Special Award) – Stonebwoy

Producer of the Year – MOG Beatz

Best African Artiste of the Year – Wizkid

Best Traditional Artiste of the Year – Nii Tettey Tetteh

Lifetime Achievement Award – Agya Koo Nimo
