A touching tribute event was organized on Wednesday in Enugu State to honor the of the late Nollywood legend, John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu.
Personalities such as Charles Anwurum and Victor Osuagwu gathered to pay their respects in a atmosphere filled with colleagues, friends, and family.
In their reflections, they celebrated Mr. Ibu’s influential career and the incomparable charisma he brought to the screen Mr. Ibu’s wife also spoke about the obstacles they overcame during his health struggles.
I am devastated that my husband is not here with me. Despite all the efforts and hardships we endured to save his life, I am feeling very unhappy,” she expressed. “I’m lost for words. It is heart-wrenching to witness my husband in tears, questioning if this is really happening to him. I was by his side in the hospital, watching him cry and struggle, she shared.
The Actors Guild of Nigeria also paid homage to Mr. Ibu’s unique character, acknowledging his exceptional contributions to the industry and the happiness he brought to countless individuals.
The
Mr. Ibu’s funeral is scheduled for Friday, June 28th, marking three months since his passing. His will be deeply missed in the Nollywood and by his fans, who are keeping his legacy alive through the joy and laughter he brought to many.
