As family, friends, and fans mourn the tragic passing of Traci Braxton from esophageal cancer, her sister Toni Braxton took to Twitter on Tuesday afternoon (March 15) to share a video Kevin Hart sent Traci while she was in the hospital, noting that the actor and comedian was her “favorite.”

Traci passed away at the age of 50 on Friday after privately battling cancer. Her famous family kept her diagnosis hidden from the public to avoid her health struggle making headlines.

“A lot of people didn’t know about Traci’s illness b/c she preferred to keep it private, however special thanks @KevinHart4real for taking the time to send her love and well wishes… you were her favorite,” Braxton wrote in the tweet. “We really appreciate you.”

On Tuesday, her sister Toni Braxton posted a video Hart sent Traci wishing her success in her fight. Revealing that the comedian was “her favorite,” Toni thanked Hart for taking time out of his schedule to film the clip for Traci.

He continued: “I want to tell you that my prayers are with you; I want to tell you to be strong and stay positive and I want to tell you you have an amazing family and support system around you that are doing their best to keep you positive and uplift you in every way possible. I hope this video does that in some type of way. My prayers are with you and more importantly my heart is smiling because of you.”

Traci’s husband, Kevin Surratt, broke the news of her passing to TMZ, saying: “We have come to a time where we must inform the public that after a year of privately undergoing a series of treatment for Esophageal cancer our beloved Traci Braxton has gone on to glory.”

She appeared on the family’s reality show Braxton Family Values and is best known as an actress for her role on Sinners Wanted.

Traci is also a sister to Tamar, Towanda, and Trina Braxton, along with Toni and their only brother Michael.

Aside from Surratt, Traci is survived by their only child, 26-year old Kevin Surratt Jr.
