Number of names have been mentioned and also speculated on social media pertaining to player’s who have been called up for the doubleheader between the Black stars of Ghana and the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the 2022 World Cup playoff’s.
There is however a major case for some of our veteran players who have had stints with Black star’s in the decade.
Sule Ali Muntari
The 37year old is back in discussion’s about the Black Stars following a strong start to life at Accra Heatrts of Oak.
Since his return to the local league he has featured for Heart’s of oak 6 times and also scoring one goal and bagging one assist in the game. He’s been impressive and also his performance in the last two matches against Kumasi Asanate Kotoko has reignited calls for his return to the Black stars.
Kevin-Prince Boateng
Kevin Prince Boateng and the Black star’s chapter never elapses. Whenever the Black Star’s squad is released, the name of the former Ac Milan forward pops up.
This time he’s being mentioned by his former colleague Prince Tagoe. Tagoe said, on Angel Tv that, “I’ll advise Otto Addo to call Kevin-Prince Boateng for the 2022 World Cup playoffs. This Ghana vs Nigeria match demands players with the character and experience that Kevin has. If we are serious qualification, let’s invite him.” Prince said on Angel TV.
Harrison Afful
It has been over four years since Harrison Afful was called up for a Black Star’s game but his name is back in the conversations.
The US based defender is reported to have made for the squad aghast Super Eagles of Nigeria on March 25 and 29. His invitation follows the poor performance of Andy Yiadom during the 2021 afcon competition.
