A reportage sighted by graphic online said, upon further interactions they had with the police which stated that the well was I n the house where Zumeseh stayed at Abetifi Zongo, a suburb of Sunyani.

The incident, which happened about 1.30 a.m. Monday, has thrown the suburb into a state of shock and incredulity.

What We Know About The Murder Case Of The Two Babies;

The Bono Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Augustine Kingsley Oppong, told Graphic Online that a business woman in the community, assisted by two policemen, arrested and sent the suspect to the Sunyani Police Station.

ASP Oppong said after the police had received a report on the dastardly act, a team was dispatched to the scene at Abetifi Zongo, where the team saw the bodies of the twins floating in the well.

The babies were found floating in the well, which drew the attention of some members of the household.

Law enforcement officers managed to remove the lifeless bodies of the innocent twins from the well and have deposited them at the morgue.

However, there was a whitish foam from their nostrils.

ASP Oppong said the bodies were conveyed to the Emergency Ward of the Sunyani Regional Hospital, where a medical officer declared them dead on arrival.

The Bono Police Regional PRO said the bodies had been deposited at the mortuary of the same hospital for preservation and autopsy.

He said the suspect, Zumeseh, had been detained to assist in investigations into the case.

Recounting on how it happened,Cecilia [Eyewitness] Said;

“I stay at Penkwase, so around 2am today, I had a call from my children who were sleeping at the workplace that the daughter of one of my workers who had given birth to twins had drowned the children in a well. So, I left home around 2am, and when I got here it was true. We called police personnel who stay in the community.”

The Bono Regional Police PRO, ASP Augustine Kingsley Oppong, as having confirmed the incident.

He said ;

“On 24th May, 2022, about 2:00 am, two policemen escorted a woman to the police who is believed to have delivered about three months ago and had dumped her two babies in a well. Due to this Police begun investigations immediately. We sent our men to the place to follow up and help.

“We can confirm that after sending the twins to the Bono Regional Hospital they were confirmed dead on arrival as confirmed by the doctor on duty Dr. Amoako,” the police boss said.
