Steve Harvey and his his wife, Marjorie, have already confirmed via a delightful Instagram video that they are not getting divorced, despite the rumors. But just in case folks aren’t getting the message, Marjorie opened up to HollywoodLife about her 11-year marriage – and everything, she says, is absolutely a-okay.
“We’re good, always,” the famed fashion blogger told the publication. “We’re prayed up … Prayer works. We’re covered.”
And when asked directly about all the gossip surrounding the couple, Marjorie went on to explain that she and Steve don’t really pay attention to it.
“Oh, see, first off, understand this: When you’re not doing anything, the devil don’t have anything to do with you,” she began. “But, when he does, when God is doing some amazing things in your life, that’s when people get busy. That’s when the devil has all his little things, doing what they do. But, we’re above that. We’re covered.”
Rumors of their split have come at a rather difficult time for the couple, who are parents to seven children. On May 10, news broke that the comedian’s talk show Steve was getting nixed after seven years.
Steve’s forced cancelation is allegedly because NBC is making way for Kelly Clarkson’s new talk show in the fall.
Then, two days later, it was announced that Steve was getting replaced as host of Little Big Shots with Melissa McCarthy. A rep promised that Melissa will bring in a “fresh perspective” to the show.
Amid all of this rough news though, Marjorie and Steve appear to be going strong. Earlier this week, Marjorie posted an uplifting video on Instagram of Steve during his last talk show episode (which will air in June). In it, the Family Feud host talks about how he’s looking forward to what the future holds for him.
This isn’t the first time Steve and Marjorie have been up against divorce rumors. Just last year, the same outlet claimed that Steve was leaving his wife for Kris Jenner and that Marjorie wanted $400 million for the split.
“My wife came to me and said, ‘Do we have $400 million?’” Steve joked with The Atlanta Journal-Constitution last year. “Nah. Not yet.”
He continued to say that he was “sick” of the falsehoods being printed about him. “They act like I don’t have family. They act like my kids can’t read. They don’t care. They just go out to destroy people with no facts behind it.”
“Your life ain’t nothing but a book. I happen to be 62 years old. I am in the middle of my 62nd chapter of the book that I’m writing,” Steve told his live studio audience. “I got my finger on the corner of the page. All I’m doing is I’m about to turn it. I can’t wait to see what God’s got for me on that other page.”
In the caption, Marjorie lovingly wrote, “So proud of you baby! Let’s go do this!”
