Ghana’s finest rap icon Sarkodie has addressed the allegations of his manager, Angelo, and his personal DJ, DJ Mensah, orchestrating the removal of Stonebwoy’s team from the stage during the 2023 Tidal Waves Festival at La Palm Royal Beach on November 4.
The video, which was widely circulated on various online platforms, such as Ghanaweb showed AngelTown, Sarkodie’s manager, intervening during Stonebwoy’s performance at the Tidal Waves Festival, leading to a controversy. This incident has compelled Sarkodie, despite his reputation for rarely responding to industry-related issues concerning himself, to address the matter.
Regarding the matter, Sarkodie expressed his worry about the reliability of news disseminated by different online platforms and recommended that GhanaWeb should not be considered a trustworthy website due to its tendency to provide inaccurate information.

During his performance, Stonebwoy, the Burniton Music boss and one of Ghana’s most prominent music exports, experienced a shocking act of disrespect. Gerrald Israel, a member of Stonebwoy’s team, shared this incident on his Facebook post and highlighted the concerns it raises about the lack of courtesy and adherence to schedules in the entertainment world.
According to Gerald, the saga began when Stonebwoy and his team arrived at La Palm Royal Beach Hotel at 10:12 PM, which was about two hours before his scheduled performance from 12:15 AM to 1:00 AM.
Nonetheless, the festival organizers notified them of a changed schedule, causing an extra hour of delay, resulting in a frustrating four-hour wait for the artist.
Despite the unforeseen delay, Stonebwoy displayed great patience while other artists such as KiDi, Efya, La Meme, and Joey B took up the time that was initially designated for his performance.
Gerrald went on to state that Stonebwoy’s scheduled performance, which was supposed to take place at 1:27 AM and last around 45 to 50 minutes, was unfortunately interrupted just 30 minutes into his set. This occurred when DJ Mensah, who is part of Sarkodie’s crew, suddenly directed Stonebwoy’s DJ to cease playing, causing chaos to unfold.
