After nearly 10 years of dating, Super Bowl-winning Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes secured his second ring by marrying longtime girlfriend Brittany Matthews. The wedding occurred in Hawaii with Mahomes and Matthews’ 1-year-old daughter Sterling acting as flower girl and Mahomes’ younger brother, Jackson, serving as his best man.
The newlyweds made the announcement on Instagram, writing the caption “Mr. & Mrs. Mahomes” along with photos from the wedding. According to TMZ, both sides of family and close friend were in attendance for the destination wedding along with Patrick’s teammates.
The couple started dating in high school and are both now 26 years old. Brittany Mahomes has become a major (and polarizing) figure in Chiefs pop culture– she and Jackson Mahomes have been Patrick Mahomes’ loudest supporters and both are highly visible on social media.
The internet has tried to start rumors of friction between Patrick and Brittany, but the couple has shot down any rumors and maintained their beautiful union. Mahomes proposed to his now-wife back on September 1, 2020, at Arrowhead Stadium on her 25th birthday, the same year his team won the Super Bowl.
