A total of 18 students have filed their nominations to contest for various offices in this year’s All Nations University Students Representative Council (ANUSRC) election.
The offices up for grabs are the President, Vice President, Financial Controller, EHASSA(Engineering Health and Allied Sciences Students Association), BASA(Business Administration Students Association)SRC Organizer,External Affairs,Women’s Commissioner.
Presidential Aspirants
The Presidency has only two contenders and are aiming to be democratically elected into office by undergraduate students body.
The two contenders for ANU- SRC presidential elections are:
- Candidate A we’ve Team Bernaj
- Candidate B on the ballot papers, Team Dery
In the presidential race are, Bernard Ali Kofi, Kelvin Bob-Dery with their Josephine Owusu,Peace Ahedor , Micheal Owusu & Goldman Manison as their running-mates respectively.
General Secretary Aspirant
Madugu Daniel Kofi will go this time around as an unopposed candidate in this year’s All Nations University SRC’s general elections as general secretary.
Financial Controller Aspirant
Patrick Edem Atakpli a strong believer in transparency and accountability and is committed to ensuring that the financial decisions made by the students are in their best interests & the SRC as well. He is confident that his experience and qualifications make him the best candidate for the position of financial controller.
In this race we’ve two candidates vying for the position of the SRC Organizing secretary.
For candidate number 1:
Damptey Forster Asiedu is currently running for the position of ANU-SRC organizing secretary in the upcoming student elections. As an experienced student leader, he is committed to ensuring that the student body is well represented in the decision-making process of the university.
He is passionate about advocating for the rights of students and ensuring that their voices are heard. He believes that by working together, students can create a better future for themselves and their peers.
He is committed to engaging in meaningful dialogue with the student body and working to ensure that the student body is well represented in the decision-making process of the university.
This year’s election promises to be thrilling and is expected to be a competitive one and the nursing department is ready to put forth its best effort to ensure that their candidates are successful. With the potential of having a nursing department candidates in the running for the position of SRC organizer secretary, it is expected that the department will continue to be a leader in advocating for the rights of students and will be a major driving force in the success of the university.
For candidate number 2
Desmond Afrifa Yeboah a third year student and he is very keen on Advocating for change, Making a positive impact by providing students with opportunities for personal growth.
All these are targeted to making students enjoy their life on campus both within and outside academics and also looking for ways for students to reach their potentials.
He also plans to increase student engagement by providing more opportunities for students to stay informed and involved in SRC activities. Desmond believes that with his passion and dedication, he can create a more inclusive and supportive environment for all students.
External Affairs Chairperson
Doreen Nyakortey is extremely passionate about the welfare of students and has been actively involved in the student movement since her freshman year.
When democratically voted into power she pledges to;
- Promote the values of the External Affairs Secretariat of All Nations University.
- Firm up the tenets of inter tertiary External Affairs Secretariat in Ghana, Africa, the Diaspora and beyond.
- Establish a network to enhance gender balance in SRC among tertiary institutions.
- Solicit for collaborations and sponsorships, internally and externally with relevant institutions, bodies and agencies for scholarships, events, projects and programmes.
WOCOM (Women’s Commissioner)
It is an all-women affair in this category as it’s only Eleanor Amponsem with her vice, Mary Ekowbo Naomi Brown Quaicoe also with her vice, Boatemaa Efya all contesting for the position of Women’s commissioner.
For Candidate Number 1 :
Naomi Quaicoe Brown is also vying for the position of WOCOM. She’s committed to empowering women on campus and has a strong platform for her campaign. Her running mate is also working hard to make sure that their success is a success for all women on campus. She is a dedicated leader and is sure to make a positive impact on the campus community if elected.
Additionally, she will work to ensure that women have a voice in the decision-making process and that their concerns are taken into consideration.
For Candidate Number 2:
Eleanor Amponsem and her running mate are the best team to take on the WOCOM position. Team Lina have the right attitude, skills and experience to make sure that the student body is represented and that their voices are heard.
They have the right vision to ensure that women are empowered and that their rights are respected. They have the right plan to ensure that the girl child is educated and that women are given the same opportunities as men. With their dedication and commitment, in her one of her campaign messages she stated that, her team will make a difference and bring about positive change for the student body.
SCHOOL OF BUSINESS: BASA(Business Administration Students Association) President Aspirants
Candidate Number : 1
Arthur Akosua Gyeduah & Her Running Mate with the necessary information to help them in their academic journey as BASA Leaders
Their main campaign promises are:
- To ensure that all Business Administration Students are well informed of the current happenings within the school, including seminars, workshops, research opportunities, and other events.
- To create a platform for students to network and collaborate with each other to increase the chances of success for all students.
- To ensure that Business Administration Students have access to the necessary resources to help them succeed in their academic journey.
- To ensure that the Business Administration Students Association (BASA) is well organized and that the students have a voice in the decision-making process.
- To provide a platform for Business Administration Students to share their ideas and experiences in order to create a better learning environment.
- To provide the necessary support and guidance to Business Administration Students in order to help them achieve their academic and professional goals.
- To create a platform for Business Administration Students to engage in meaningful conversations and debates in order to foster an environment of learning and growth.
- To ensure that the BASA is well-funded and that the funds are used to benefit the students.
- To create a platform for Business Administration Students to showcase their talents and skills in order to gain recognition and further their career prospects.
- To ensure that all Business Administration Students have a safe and enjoyable learning experience.
For Candidate Number 2 :
The candidates have both promised to work hard to ensure that the student body is well represented and that their needs are met. They have also promised to ensure that the student body is given a voice in the decision making process and that their opinions are taken into account. They have also promised to ensure that the student body is given the opportunity to participate in activities and events on campus.

SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING & NURSING : EHASSA(Engineering Health and Allied Sciences Students Association) Aspirants
EHASSA is a new association which has given major platforms for its members to network, share experiences and knowledge, and to collaborate on projects that benefit the wider community. The association also works to raise awareness of the importance of engineering and nursing in society, and to promote the profession to the public.
It also seeks to foster a sense of community and collaboration among students, faculty, staff and alumni of the Engineering, Health and Allied Sciences faculties.
The contest has been a long and hard-fought battle between the two candidates. Both have put in countless hours of hard work to make their case to the student body and convince them to vote for them. It is a close race and it will come down to the wire to see who will be victorious.
The students have been debating the merits of each candidate and the issues that matter to them, and it is clear that both candidates are passionate about making a difference in the school. In the end, it will be up to the students to decide who will be the next leader of the engineering school.
For Candidate number 1 :
Nana Aba Mensah and her running mate are dedicated to making sure that the student body is represented in a fair and equitable manner.
They will strive to ensure that students are given the opportunity to make their voices heard and that their opinions are taken into consideration when decisions are made.
They will work to ensure that the student body is provided with the resources they need to succeed and to make the most of their time at the university.
For Candidate number 2 :
Sampson Odikro is committed to ensuring the best possible learning experience for all engineering students at EHASSA.
He plans to create a mentorship program to help students succeed academically and professionally. He will also work to build a mini-sick bay on campus so that students can access medical care quickly and easily.
In addition, Sampson will strive to engage alumni and collaborate with industry partners to provide students with real-world experience and resources. Finally, he will work to bring all engineering students together to foster a sense of unity and shared purpose.
Timothy Armah Otabil is the third candidate on the ticket of EHASSA, he’s a third year student of the nursing department. He’s also keen on making a Paige change when viinto power
What To Expect & How To Exercise Your Political Franchise
The voting process at both polling stations is straightforward and simple. It will be conducted manually where ballot boxes will be provided at each polling center by the electoral commission. The voter will be issued a ballot paper to cast his or her vote and then drop it in the ballot box allocated for that portfolio) The voter will be required to select their desired candidate from the list of aspirants.
It’s only the positions that have no contest will be voted on yes or no basis
In order to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the voting process, each polling station (Both City & Main Campuses) will be equipped with a CCTV camera to record all activity. Additionally, each voter will be required to present a valid form of identification (Student ID)prior to casting their vote. Furthermore, the voting application will be regularly monitored by the election committee to ensure that no fraudulent activity takes place.
The results of the election will be announced shortly after the polls close. Also polls for weekend students will be closed on 15th of April 2023. The results will be based on the total number of high number of votes cast on the 14th to 15th of April 2023. The candidate with the most votes will be declared the winner.
