Late gospel singer, Osinachi’s husband, Peter Nwachuku is said to be one of the inmates who escaped from Kuje Correctional Center in Abuja during the Boko Haram terrorist attack.

It would be recalled that on Tuesday, July 5, gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram terrorists attacked the prison with explosives and released 879 inmates including 64 hardened Boko Haram criminals.

However, over 500 inmates have now been recaptured but some inmates are still at the large as at the time of filing this report.

According to the source, security operatives have launched a manhunt to apprehend him.

The source said, “The day we heard of the prison break, we called the prison authorities to know the state of Mr Nwachukwu but they were initially not forthcoming with the true situation.

“But it was confirmed on Sunday that the man truly escaped from prison custody.

“Manhunt has been launched on him at the moment. Security agencies have been briefed.

“They are also monitoring his bank account to see if there would be any transaction.”

Peter was detained at the Kuje prison over allegations of domestic violence levelled against him following the death of the gospel singer who died in April 2022.
