Honoring the Memory of Kelvin Woegah: A Tribute to an Inspiring and Resilient Spirit at All Nations University, Koforidua

A candlelight vigil took place at the forecourts of the Engineering Campus & Ebenezer Hostel to remember the late SRC PRO, Kelvin Woegah.

It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we remember the late Kelvin Woegah, who tragically passed away on 21st November 2023 due to a minor illness.

His untimely departure has left a void in the hearts of many, especially the students of All Nations University, where he served as the Student Representative Council (SRC) Public Relations Officer (PRO).

Yesterday, an emotionally-charged candlelight vigil was held at the main campus engineering and the University Ebenezer Hostel, where students, friends, and faculty gathered to honor and celebrate the life of this remarkable individual.

Kelvin Woegah’s passing has sent shockwaves through the community, as he was known not only for his exceptional academic achievements but also for his vibrant personality and unwavering dedication to serving others. Despite his short time with us, he made a lasting impact on everyone he encountered.

Kelvin embodied the true spirit of leadership and service. As the SRC PRO, he tirelessly worked towards enhancing student welfare, fostering unity among peers, and advocating for their needs and concerns. His charismatic nature and genuine desire to make a difference drew people towards him, making him a beloved figure within the university community.

Beyond his role as the SRC PRO, Kelvin exhibited an insatiable thirst for knowledge, continually striving for excellence academically. He pursued his studies with unparalleled dedication, always pushing the boundaries of his abilities. His exceptional intellect and inquisitive mind inspired both his peers and instructors alike.

During a solemn moment, the vice president of All Nations University’s Student Representative Council (SRC) also mentioned that;

“candles hold different symbolic meanings in various cultures and religions during vigil nights. In general, they represent illumination in times of darkness, hope, and a spiritual presence. The lighting of a candle is commonly viewed as a symbolic expression of remembrance, prayer, or unity. The flickering flame can also represent the impermanence of life. In general, candles in a vigil hold deep symbolic meaning, promoting feelings of connection, contemplation, and respect. As the Pillar of SRC, Woegah provided us with guidance, a sense of purpose, and optimism.”

The Vice President of All Nations University, H.E. Goldman Manison, spoke at the candlelight vigil ceremony that took place yesterday in the main auditorium of the school.

Kelvin had a remarkable ability to connect with people on a personal level. He was a friend who would lend an ear, offer words of encouragement, and provide unwavering support. His radiant smile and infectious laughter brought joy to those around him, making everyone feel valued and appreciated.

In a somber atmosphere, Innocentia Mawuena Dey stood at the forecourt of Ebenezer Hostel, clutching a photograph of the late Woegah, where students had convened to conduct the candlelight vigil ceremony.

Yesterday, the candlelight vigil service held at All Nations University was a testament to the profound impact Kelvin had on the lives of those around him.

The main campus engineering and the University Ebenezer Hostel were adorned with flickering candles that symbolized the light he brought into the world. Friends, fellow students, and faculty shared heartfelt stories, memories, and anecdotes that painted a vivid picture of Kelvin’s vibrant spirit and unyielding determination.

While we mourn the loss of Kelvin, let us also celebrate the life he lived. His unwavering resilience in the face of challenges serves as an inspiration for us all. He reminded us that even during our darkest moments, there is always a glimmer of hope, a reason to keep pushing forward.

Pastor Samuel Dordaa, from ANUC’s main campus, expressed his thoughts and offered prayers for the families and friends mourning the loss of Kelvin Woegah.
