England star Harry Maguire celebrated his marriage to Fern Hawkins at a romantic French chateau today – where guests will enjoy a pool party on Sunday.
Harry, 29, and Fern, 27, exchanged vows in front of Three Lions team mate Jordan Pickford and his wife Megan Davison, 26, who was bridesmaid. The Man Utd captain arrived in Burgundy on a £50,000 private jet with around 30 family and friends.
Then they headed to £250,000 do at the historic Chateau Varennes, once voted in the top 10 wedding venues in the world. The party included a beautician and hairdresser for physio Fern, who met her future husband when they were still teenagers.
It is understood the loving couple had written some of their own vows and chose a singer for the ceremony in the chateau’s grounds. They had cocktails with loved ones on Friday night – and plan a party at the venue’s outdoor pool before their return to the UK.
“Harry wanted everything to be perfect for their big day,” said a source. “It was for close family and friends, and there was no expense spared.”
Guests were asked not to use mobile phones with one of Fern’s friends doing the official wedding photos. They also received a gift of thanks from the newlyweds, who both love France.
