The Black Stars of Ghana will have to navigate their way past Madagascar, Angola and the Central African Republic in Group E if they will make an appearance in the 2023 AFCON to be played in Cote d’Ivoire next year.
The draw was conducted in South Africa on Tuesday at the Super Sport studios and it featured the 48 teams that had made it to the final stage of qualifying for the tournament.
Ghana was part of the seeded teams in Pot 1, alongside defending champions Senegal, Algeria, Nigeria, Morocco, Egypt and others heavyweights based on their FIFA ranking.
The 34th edition of the AFCON will be hosted by the Ivory Coast from June 23 to July 23, 2023 in six venues and five major cities.
